Known as one of the greatest singers of the
French and Italian repertoire, lyric baritone
Gino Quilico has graced the stages of the world’s major opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, The Royal Opera, Covent Garden, the Vienna State Opera and the Paris Opera. Gino Quilico has worked with such distinguished conductors as Herbert Von Karajan, Leonard Bernstein, Riccardo Chailly, Seiji Ozawa, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta and Kent Nagano.

He made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 1987 as Lescaut in Manon and has performed on the famous stage over 150 times since. That same year, Gino and Louis Quilico became the first father and son duo to ever perform at the Metropolitan Opera together in its 103 years of existence. Mr. Quilico has performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Ottawa at the National Arts Center and was also invited to sing, in private audience, for Prince Charles and Princess Diana at the Canadian Embassy in London, England.

In 1988, he was named Artist of the Year by the Canadian Music Council. In 1993, in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the world of music, Gino Quilico was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada. With over 20 opera
recordings, including a Gold record for his recording Noel, he has also won a Grammy Award for his participation in the recording of Les Troyens.
